Frequently Asked Questions
Here, we've put together an FAQ for Airport Hero
Is Airport Hero a flight simulator? |
Airport Hero is NOT a flight simulator. This is a common misconception. It is an air traffic control simulator, where you guide planes as they take off, taxi, land, and park. You have no free control of the aircraft in the game. If you are looking for a flight simulator, we recommend Infinite Flight. |
Is Airport Hero free? |
No. Airport Hero for the 3DS costs $20.00 USD, however, it goes on sale to as little as $7.00 USD at regular intervals. |
Does Airport Hero have real-life airplanes and airlines in it? |
All Airport Hero games have a variety of aircraft from manufacturers like Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier, but the mainstream games do not have real-life airlines in it (due to licensing). Some exclusive games like All-Stars have real-world airlines in it. |
What does it mean for an airline to be "represented?" |
Due to licensing, the series does not have real airlines. Instead, the developers have created fictional airlines that look like real world airlines. For example, OahuAir represents Hawaiian Airlines, Unicorn Airlines represents United Airlines, and All Japan Airways represents All Nippon Airways (ANA), and so on. |
Do you have to learn about real air traffic control to play Airport Hero? |
Not at all! In fact, Airport Hero can probably teach a thing or two about air traffic control. This game is designed so anyone can play it, and it includes in-game guides to create a fun and engaging simulation. And if it is still confusing, visit the wiki for help. |
Is Airport Hero suitable for children? |
Yes! Anyone with a passion for aviation will find this game entertaining. There is also a heavy puzzle aspect to it as well since you will find yourself managing many flights at one time. There is also no violence or thematic elements of any kind, crashes in the game are implied, not shown. |
Does Airport Hero have a lot of replay potential? |
Absolutely. Airport Hero has a lot more than meets the eye. Any game you choose will have bonus stages that you unlock after you clear the main ones, and the Camera Stages and Story Mode add even more replay value. |
Is Airport Hero on mobile devices? |
Not yet. Sonic Powered (the developer) has repeatedly expressed their intent to make a mobile Airport Hero game, so we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, we recommend Unmatched Air Traffic Control (UATC) as a mobile substitute. |

Most of the media on the wiki is either provided by fans or by the Airport Hero Film Crew.
Airport Hero Film Crew
Our very own film crew, headed by PM Productions (who also runs the Airport Hero series). They currently provide the majority of videos and images found on the wiki. We post most of the images on their gallery page (found here). We can't fit as many videos into one page, so in order to see more videos, you will have to go to their YouTube channel. The link can also be found on their page here at the wiki.
Special thanks to our contributor Gavin2086, he provides the majority of media from exclusive AH games.
If you would like to join the film team, contact the head. Commenting on either the team's channel or PM's channel is the best way to go.
Fan Content
We love to see media from fans. This not only provides a splash of color on the wiki the film crew can't provide by itself, and also helps confirm the existence of things within the game. For example, fan-made media was how we were able to confirm the Go-Around Glitch as well as the appearance of Star Rocket 's 737s.
When uploading fan content, please adhere to our image policy, found above, and upload it directly to the wiki (not on a page unless approved) or to the gallery found on the film crew's wiki page (link above). We will add it to a page if we feel it's good enough for the page.
However, if you would like to create a gallery for an airline, you can go right ahead. The film crew can only provide us so much, so this really helps us expand the wiki. You can create a gallery by compiling existing images or using your own, but follow the steps above when uploading new content.
