All Japan Airways technically first appeared in Air Traffic Controller DS as the main airline. They have appeared in every game to date, even ones exclusive to Japan. They represent All Nippon Airways.

AH Narita

In the Narita game, All Japan is the main airline. They appear in every main stage in Operation Mode and most Camera stages as well. There is a Special stage as well that is dedicated to APA flights.

In the game, APA has a diverse fleet and many destinations. It operates a healthy mix of domestic and international flights. Their domestic destinations include New Chitose, Naha, Kansai, Sendai, Osaka, and Naha, while international flights include New Delhi, Honolulu, Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac), New York, Chicago, Hong Kong, Incheon, Singapore, and more.

APA has its own gates, which occupy most of Terminal 1. They also have another two gates halfway between T1 and T2, which are used for domestic flights. Because of the location of the gates, APA flights in the international section can use either 16R/34L without delay (although it would be inefficient to use 16L/34R) and APA domestic flights can use either pair of runways.

AH Osaka-KIX

In AH Kansai, APA is no longer the main airline. That role is filled by Japan Lines (Likely successor to Japan Skylines, who is possibly APA's rival). This time, they only appear every once and a while, and more often they appear as

and airserve rather than an actual flight.

APA is much more rare in Osaka-KIX. In Operation Mode, APA flights in Kansai are all A320s going to other destinations in Japan, most often New Chitose, Naha, and Fukuoka. However when the Camera stage feature is unlocked, 767s and 737s going to a variety of places are seen, yet there is not a single A320.

During the rare occasion that an APA flight is on the departure list, they will always start out in the domestic terminal with Japan Lines planes. In the Camera stages, international flights will appear in the North International Terminal, the place where Sky German, Unicorn Air, Azix, etc., will start as well.

AH Honolulu

In AH Honolulu, APA appeared differently. They still had the same ICAO code and callsign, but they had a new paint scheme. It vaguely resembles that of ANA's.

APA flights in Honolulu aren't as rare as the ones in Kansai but they certainly aren't common. In reality, many Japanese visit U.S. islands like Guam and Hawaii, so ANA uses large planes to minimize the number of planes going to Honolulu. This is relevant to the game as well, the only APA flights in Honolulu are 747s and 767s.

In Honolulu, there are no specific gates for any plane with the exception of OahuAir's 717s, so APA flights aren't assigned to any set of gates. However, they tend to start on the western side of the airport, near runway 8L.

Other Games

Along with its first appearance in Air Traffic Controller DS, it has also appeared in AH games only sold in Japan, including Airport Hero Naha and Airport Hero Haneda with JAL. In Airport Hero Narita with ANA, APA was switched out with ANA.

In addition, APA also appears in Airport Hero New Chitose and Airport Hero Haneda with JAL. In the latter game, there is a brief appearance of and an APA 767 in a retro paint scheme.

AH: Haneda with JAL.

APA is the second most frequent airline, behind Japan Airlines. They very frequently operate as Arrivals and Departures, International and Domestic. Frequently Operating the 777-200er's, 767's, 747's, and A320's. This was the time when APA's livery had the old one from AH Hawaii.

Now, as departures. You will find APA flights commonly on Terminal 2, and Terminal 3 (Intl Terminal) occupying Gates 56 Through 68 for Terminal 2, and Occupies Gates 114, through 109 for Terminal 3. When theyre parked at Terminal 2, they will usually ask to taxi to Runways 34R and Runway 05. It is really reliable to taxi them to Runway 34R, just that the only thing to keep in mind is that this is one of the busiest runway. So as a much safer option for the player, they can choose them to taxi to Runway 05, a less busier runway.

Now when you have to deal with APA flights on Terminal 3, the player has to be precise with these planes, as when they're taxi'ing; Theyre dealing with the busiest part of the airport because you have the main Runway 34L and A bunch of other flights taxi'ing Around Terminal 3. APA flights usually ask to taxi to Runway 16R, Runway 16L, and Runway 34L. If you need to lift these planes quick, then 16R is the way to go. But the player has to keep in mind that alot of planes are landing here. So they frequently have to hold short. Increasing the chance of delays, ending up in penalties. If you wanna avoid this runway and play it safe, Runways 16L, 34R and is a nice choice. Because that runway is not as busy as Runway 34L, they only small thing is the planes having a risk interfering with other APA's and Sky Asia's and whatnot.

Now as Arrivals, the planes commonly Operate the 777's, 747's, and 767's.

These planes can land in All 4 Runways, 34L, 34R, 23, and 22. Now when these flights operate Domestic Flights. It is not recommended to land at Runway 34L and 22. As when they land and taxi. They have to taxi all the way to Terminal 2; Not only that, it can Highly risk interfering with alot of planes. So its highly recommended to land them at Runway 34L and 23. Where T2 is much more closer and safer.

When they operate International, its recommended to land them at Runway 22 and 34L, though 34L you can also have a chance colliding with other planes when they taxi to T3. So its much safer landing them at Runway 34R.

Fun fact: On Stage 3 on Haneda with JAL, theres a brief appearance of an APA Q-400 parked in front of Terminal 3's stands. However, the plane does not appear as an controllable flight.
