Departure Control is a Control Frequency in Airport Hero. It shows up as green on the ATC panel.
Control[]
Departure Control is arguably the least active control frequency, but hardly the least important. It guides planes as they leave the airport's airspace and on to their final destination.
Departure[]
Shortly after a flight takes off, the tower will need to hand them off to departure. This happens after the plane retracts it's landing gear (Or as they are retracting in Airport Hero Osaka-KIX). There is no rush for the hand-off, eventually it will hand off automatically with a small point penalty.
Once the hand-off is complete, the pilots will immediately notify Departure that they are airborne and climbing. They will respond with brief instructions, then leave the plane off to continue it's flight. After a while, when the plane is ready to exit the airspace, Departure will approve the exit, instruct them to contact the next controller and sign off with "good day". The color on the flight info strip will disappear, and the plane will fly off the map and out of the ATC's jurisdiction.
Go-Around[]
Arriving flights on go-around will also make their way through Departure. The tower will hand them off to Departure as they fly over the airport. When they are ready to turn back to the airport, Departure will hand them off to Approach Control.
