The Go-Around Glitch is an issue in the game that causes certain aircraft to fly out of bounds after being issued a go-around.

The Glitch[]

This glitch happens only in Airport Hero Honolulu. It was fixed in the following Airport Hero games, and Hawaii's Version 1.1 Update.

Description[]

It is not clear how or why the glitch happens. It appears to be random. When a flight is on it's final approach to the airport and the player issues a go-around, the flight will fly over the airport as normal, however, instead of turning back around the plane with instead head north without slowing or changing altitude. The plane will remain on the tower frequency, so contact is theoretically possible but there is no way to contact the plane during the glitch. As the plane heads off the map it will not switch to departure control and exit, it will instead remain on tower even as it goes off the map. The plane remains flying north until a game over or the level has been cleared. The plane is visible to other aircraft during the glitch, as one player proved, but no contact is possible.

Affected aircraft[]

The following aircraft have been reported to been affected by the glitch

  • All private aircraft. N322W has been reported to be affected the worst by the glitch
  • OahuAir 717s (to be confirmed or extremely rare)

Fixes[]

Currently, there is nothing that can be done to fix the glitch. Sonic Powered has not made an update or really even acknowledged it. Although some players consider it annoying because it is lost points, it does not directly affect gameplay.
