Two Japan Sky A320s at the LCC area as a violent storm engulfs the Osaka Bay area.
The Kansai LCC (low-cost carrier) Terminal is one of the terminals at Kansai International Airport in Airport Hero Osaka-KIX.
Terminal Information
The LCC terminal is also known as Terminal 2 (indicated by a large illuminated sign in the parking lot) and as the regional terminal
Description
As the name states, this terminal is reserved for budget airlines. In the mainstream version of AH Osaka-KIX, it is only used by Japan Sky. The terminal itself has a large apron and a passenger building, adjacent to a parking lot. There are no jet bridges, planes in the terminal use boarding trucks instead. The apron has 3 spots and is large enough that planes can perform a 180-degree turn without needing to pushback.
The terminal is right next to the parallel taxiways and is across from the PHC parking (cargo terminal).
Control
Controlling flights in this area is a lot harder than it looks. Being close to the twin taxiways is not necessarily an advantage, however, it is just across from runway 06L/24R. This runway should always be the first option, especially on busy days, as choosing any other one presents the risk of interfering with other traffic.
Be especially aware of the PHC cargo jets buzzing around their respective terminal. Large 747Fs have been known to cause a near-miss with Japan Sky planes as the taxi along the ground. In this situation, Japan Sky flights should be given priority since delays will frustrate the
passengers. Cargo carried by the PHC jets will not be sensitive to delays.
Airlines
This terminal is reserved for LCCs. In the All-Stars edition of AH Osaka-KIX, far more airlines use the terminal.
